Description ![Return to top of page](https://www.interworldna.com/images/new/up_arrow.gif)
Quatech's DSP-100 is a PC-Card 2.1 compliant Type-II PCMCIA card which add two fully independent asynchronous RS-232 serial interfaces to the host computer. Like all Quatech serial interfaces, the DSP-100 is implemented with 16550 UARTs which provide 16 byte transmit and receive FIFOs for increased performance in multitasking environments and with applications involving high data rates. The DSP-100 is accessed through standard D-9 male connectors.
Users may select the particular I/O address space at which the DSP-100 is to be located. The two serial ports of the DSP-100 may be configured at either the standard COM port I/O address locations or in a 16-byte contiguous I/O address block. Both of the DSP-100's serial ports can share the same interrupt, and an interrupt status register is provided for determining which serial port generated the interrupt.
All necessary software is included to install and configure the cards for use with DOS/Windows 3.x, Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.0 and OS/2 (an optional communications driver may also be required for OS/2). Support for SCO UNIX System V is optionally available.
