Outlet Status Feedback
Geist’s proprietary feature enables real-time feedback of each individual outlets status. Through the power strip GUI you receive a warning if the actual status of the outlets is different than the one being shown. Visual confirmation of a relay’s failure to change state is given so you can be sure that the outlets are indeed On or Off.
User-Friendly Web Interface
Geist’s Monitored PDU’s help users keep an eye on remote conditions from a secure web interface. The web interface provides an overview of your environment using real time data. All measurements are logged allowing users to collect data for trending and capacity management. Monitored PDU’s have flexible access rights and security settings with up to three access account levels, as well as LDAP support for easy integration into existing user access management procedures. It offers secure access through the web and supports HTTP and HTTPS protocols.
Customizable Alarms with Escalation
Geist’s Monitored PDU’s can trigger escalating alarms if temperatures, or other environmental variables fall outside a specified parameter. Receive SNMP, email to text message alert notifications when user-adjustable thresholds are exceeded.
Environmental Monitoring
Monitoring PDUs have two environmental sensor ports with the ability to track climate information: temperature, airflow, humidity, dew point and additional environmental variables. This data is available through any web browser and is SNMP and JSON API compatible for easy tracking of critical data, without the use of any external software. It is simple to capture all the data, analyze trends and resolve issues immediately. Pair with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software for a comprehensive, single-pane-of-glass view of your entire data center infrastructure.
Colored Chassis
|
Geist offers colored chassis options to help data center personnel easily identify the input feed of each PDU, helping create proper load balancing of attached equipment and minimizing error that could lead to accidental downtime. |
Switched Outlet Level Monitoring
LIVE DEMO - coming soon!
While monitored PDUs display information remotely, only switched PDUs have the ability to control individual power outlets. In addition to its switching capabilities, the outlet level monitoring PDUs track granular power consumption data of all equipment. The Max Group Amps (MGA) feature offers an extra level of protection, preventing circuit overload by letting users set the threshold for maximum number of amps.
Simply capture the data needed to analyze trends and resolve issues before they lead to costly downtime. With a click of a few buttons users can disable problem equipment by cutting power to specific outlets, rebooting equipment remotely, and avoiding the need to send technicians to resolve issues onsite, saving time and money. With flexible access rights and security settings, create and manage user accounts to promptly handle issues when they arise.
Switched Unit Level Monitoring

Create and manage user accounts to promptly handle issues when they arrise with flexible access rights.
Switched PDUs provide a comprehensive view of power usage in a data center. The monitoring display offers quick access to the PDUs power readings: Current, Volts, Watts, Power Factor and kWh’s. By monitoring these critical variables, data center managers can evaluate energy-usage trends and ensure maximum uptime.

Switched PDUs FAQs
What is the maximum number of switched outlets I can have?
You can have up to 48 switched outlets.
Do you have options for any other national outlets instead of NEMA?
Yes, Geist supports switched power strips with UK (BS1363) and Schuko (CEEE7) style outlets as well as the ability to combine either of these with IEC C13 and C19 outlets.
Do I need specific Geist software to monitor and control the PDU?
No, Geist utilizes HTTP, JSON, SNMP protocols to ensure that you can use most browsers and SNMP platforms to get the full use of your Geist power strips with your own choice of software.
What sensors can I use with the PDU?
You can use any Geist Digital Sensor directly with the power strip as well as any Geist Analog sensors through our A2D convertor. See Monitor product page for more details.
How many sensors can I use?
Each PDU supports up to 16 sensors by using a splitter to gain extra ports. All sensors are automatically added to the power strips GUI when connected.
Do I have the option to purchase PDUs in various colors?
Yes, Geist offers its power distribution units in various colors to:
-
Identify input feed A/B, for racks with multiple connected PDUs
-
Identify which phase/circuit a single phase PDU is connected to
