QSP-100 - OBSOLETE

Effective as of 11/1/09, Quatech Inc. has discontinued the model QSP-100, 4 port, RS-232 PCMCIA card, due to several component availability issues.  Quatech apologizes for the short notice on obsolescence and any inconveniences on behalf of our customers or distribution partners. Unfortunately, several components without direct replacements required to build the card are no longer available.

The model QSP-100 will be replaced in the PCMCIA product family by the model SL0751-161, ruggedized, 4 port serial I/O PCMCIA card.  Quatech recently purchased in October the SocketSerial product line from Socket Mobile. SocketSerial, an innovator in serial device technology for mobile platforms, has manufactured serial communications peripherals since 1993. Socket Mobile, through its SocketSerial business unit, has continued to be one of the top two leading suppliers, alongside Quatech, in serial peripheral technology. This acquisition by Quatech combines the technical and support strengths of two of the leading and longtime providers of connectivity solutions into a single organization. The model SL0751-161 is a direct function replacement providing 4 additional fully compatible RS-232 serial ports thru a PCMCIA slot. The card is a viable product with no current EOL plan.

All current model QSP-100 customers and orders can be upgraded to the SocketSerial Model SL0751-161. The Model SL0751-161 is in stock and available immediately.
