General Product Information
Overcome fiber loss, connector loss, and splice loss with Model FOSTDRP. Use this repeater as an active splice to increase the optical power on the fiber rather than attenuate it. Locate the unit at the fiber junction panel to provide the extra distance needed between end nodes. The FOSTDRP works by receiving the optical signal, converting it to an electronic signal and re-transmitting the amplified and squared signal back out on the optical fiber. The unit is optimized for a center wavelength of 820 nm and supports data rates from DC to 1 Mbps. The repeater comes with four ST type connectors and is compatible with all multimode fiber and B&B fiber optic modems. The FOSTDRP requires 10 to 30 VDC at 130 mA max.
