No Power Available? No Problem! Use This Battery Powered Converter If you have room for just one RS-232 to RS-485 converter in your toolbox, the 485BAT3 should be it. Powered by 2 AAA batteries (not included), you'll never look for an open outlet or worry about inadequate port power again.
Ultra low power circuitry gives impressive battery life, further improved by drawing any available power from the host RS-232 port. Terminal connections for a 12 VDC input are also provided for complete powering flexibility. Power Supply 485PS2 is well-matched to this unit. Two set-up switches provide flexibility in systems applications as well- use the 485BAT3 on any RS-485 or RS-422 system.
Automatic Send Data Control eliminates the need for any special software. A DB9 female connector on the RS-232 side allows easy connection to a laptop or other PC. Terminal blocks connect easily to any RS-422 or RS-485 device. Dimensions are 3.6 x 2.6 x 1.1 in (9 x 6.5 x 2.8 cm).
