General Product Information
Two Channel RS-232 to RS-422 Converter allows your computer to communicate up to 4000 feet by converting the RS-232 signal to RS-422. If the peripheral to be connected will operate on the RS-422 signal, only one converter is required. If both the Data Transmitting Equipment and Data Receiving Equipment use only RS-232, then two converters should be used, one at each end of the line.
This model converts the RS-232 TD and RTS to RS-422, and the RS-422 RD and CTS to RS-232.
No external power supply is required, as this unit is powered by the RS-232 handshake lines. If no handshake lines are available, this unit can also be powered by an optional 12 VDC power supply. Power Supply 422PS2 is matched to this converter.
The RS-232 side has a DB25 female connector and the RS-422 side has Terminal Block connectors. For reversed gender see 422LPCON . For DB9 female version see 422PP9TB .
