The PicoScope Oscilloscope Diagnostics Kit turns a PC into a high-performance diagnostic tool that can be used on all makes and models of vehicle. The multi-channel oscilloscope can show voltage and current waveforms for all electrical components, such as MAP and airflow sensors, starter motors and fuel pumps; complex multi-cylinder ignition and injection patterns; and even CAN bus, LIN bus and FlexRay physical signals. Pico supplied a customised version of its scope to match Maserati's existing test instrumentation so that a minimum of retraining and retooling was necessary. We also supplied a customised version of the Pico Diagnostics software with battery testing, compression testing and a new prop-shaft balancing function.
A spokesman for Maserati's Training Department explained, "Pico adapted their product to our exact requirements, including some completely new tests, in an impressively short time. They worked with us continually to develop the hardware and training materials, which were well received by our engineers. The kit will improve the efficiency of our dealers and keep our training programme relevant to the latest vehicles."
