With BNC connectors and internal shielding Pico current clamps have superior noise performance compared to competing current clamps. To demonstrate this we measured the signal from an automotive fuel injector. A Pico current clamp was compared against a competing current clamp to see how well each clamp rejected the noise from the ignition system. Both clamps were positioned in exactly the same position.
The waveform below shows the noise present when using a competing current clamp. Note how due to the noise the scope has failed to trigger correctly.
With superior shielding against interference the Pico current clamp eliminates the noise and ensures your measurements are accurate.
For superior noise performance chose a Pico current clamp.
