Wet Physics: Water Skiing as an Extreme Sport

MSR Data Logger in Information Magazine, “Einstein”, SF DRS

The popular TV program “Einstein“ of Swiss television DRS reports weekly about current topics from all areas of knowledge. MSR data logger was on board the program on June 14, 2012.

Water skiers are said to reach speeds of over 100 km/h during slalom, enduring centrifugal forces like a rollercoaster ride. “Einstein” verified these data together with Zug police and measuring technology specialists of MSR Electronics GmbH. In order to test the g-force, several MSR data loggers were used.

Also on the program: Can one ride water skis behind a row boat, and how fast does a water skier have to be so as not to go under water?
